Mythical creatures

Week 61

Hay all I am back up an running again in my new studio. I am so happy to be able to draw again after a couple of weeks running around and not having time to even do a 2 second sketch. I don't have a lot of you guys at the moment but I have just finished a couple more sketches. So here they are some more of my mythical creatures.

Bigfoot: Big foot part of american folklore most of you would of heard about. Bigfoot is said to be a simian, ape, or hominid-like creature that is aid to inhabit forests mainly in the pacific northwest.

Black dog: Folklore from British isles, The black dog is an apparition and is said to be a sign of death.

I hope to have more work to show in the next post but everything is a little bit in disarray at the moment. I won't stop with the new theme however until I finished this sketch book. So much more to come.

New topic and new sketches

Week 57

Hello all here is the last two sketches of my spliced work.

Unfortunately my sketchbook so  I have started the new topic for daily warm ups I am even using a new medium to do them. I waned something that was going to challenge me. Since I have a heap of copic markers and never an excuse to use them I am now using them to add colour to my illustrations. This is all new to me since I only used copic markers really terribly during my graphic design days.

The new topic is mythical creatures. I wanted to continue with creature creation but shy away from too much animal design and I thought this was the perfect topic. I also like reading up on so of the folk law behind these creatures.

The Alicorn. A unicorn with wings.

The banshee. You don't want the young lady shrieking at you. A banshee is a mythical creature in Irish mythology that is often depicted as a hag in red or green. When she shrieks at a family member it is often the prediction of death.

The basilisk. You might recall this guy from Harry Potter. He has the ability to bite with a deadly venom. Also on look and he can kill a man.

I am a little busy right now with moving out so I don't know if I will be settled in next week to post some more work up. I will try to get ahead on it and see if I can get some new work done soon as I have my studio set up at my new place.

Have a fantastic week people
