VROOOM VROOM SWOOSH, onto flying we go
My ship is modeled and well, hopefully going to be textured soon, after an immense amount of work on it. I am liking this model quite a lot, its the first time I have made something this mechanical, and since I am not really minded like that there has being a lo of reference involved. I can't wait to see this thing fly and animated. Its going to hopefully be something to be marveled at.

Short Film - Concept art Little girl
So I have done a couple ideas for my little girl, the main character. I still need to try a lot of things out before I am happy, but here is some of my work from today.
Concept One
I started to draw this girl, based of some of these images.
I liked the hair and the Disney style face of Sophia (bottom), so I copied the eyes and the nose and the shape of the face, but found that I wanted to have a little more character to her smile. I just imagined her with a big goofy expressive smile. When I put the elements together I found that she looked a lot more older then I intended, more early - mid teens. I wanted my character to have more of a child feel to her. So I started to redraw and came up with this.
Concept 2
To make her look younger I rounded her face, which gave her more of a child like feel, not as defined. Then I made the eyes bigger, because I wanted her to show a lot of expression through bout eyes, face and body. I then changed the way the hair was, I liked the little curl at the front, so I kept that and changed the rest of her hair to pigtails. The last thing was to make her ears bigger, and add pink scrunchies. to add a little more character.
I still want to make some more concepts and start trying out some expressions on her, before I finalise a design, but this is to give you an idea about what stage I am currently at.

The Nutcracker walks.... ah floats?!
Here is the final of my tracking. Obviously he is floating and its not because he is magic, even though it would be exceptional if he was..... him a wizard nutcracker. I can see the film... Okay well its because there was a problem with the tracking and the way that nuke and 3ds max read things. To fix the problem is to re-do so for now he is the amazing floating nutcracker. He might have a side show soon. ha ha ha.
Onto some of the process, I reduced some of the reflection, so it was only very slight and the shadow to, the shadow in some of my before renders was too intense and because there are supposed to be two light sources not one like I made, I edited the shadow to be lighter because of that.
Hope you enjoy the show :P
Maya - The car tank
I have a few things to work on on this but, here is what it looking like at the moment. I need to add some extra details to it, and work on the colour, and do the lighting.
previz
Okay I have my preview soughed for my pre-production work. My first one is defiantly going to be the hardest, but in any case should be the most fun, by experience. Challenges are the thrill to this simple thing you call life, I love the pressure at the same time loath the stress, but still the final product will be well worth that at least you hope

Initial Script idea
Okay so this is going to be my new pride and joy, I have written a bit of a break down or script of my story. Its just the first version, but I am going to start today drawing out the story board so all this mubo jumbo of info on paper makes sense to you all. It will also help me to start coming up with the character designs I have be oh so longing on doing. :D so much excitement.
Okay clam down miss......
Here is the first script.
For the human character extras I am going to make a base model to work off and then change features of them. This will help me save some time and requires me to just change very few things.
The environments are going to be the easy parts in this. But super excited to make this. Hope it ends well. :)

Okay clam down miss......
Here is the first script.
Script v 1
BOXY DULL STREET,
EVERYTHING IS OFF COLOUR OR GREY.
A young girl, in bright clothes and rainbow socks with a bag
is walking along the street as blurs pass her by.
She has a bright smile on her face happy and oblivious to
her surroundings. A light bounce in her step. Hair bouncing along with her.
CAMERA ZOOMS INTO HER EYES, REFLECTION OF A DIFFERENT
ENIROMENT, BRIGHT COLOURS.
CAMERA ZOOMS AROUND.
BRIGHT COLOURFUL ORGANIC FUN ENVIROMENT.
The world is different dancing sunflowers. Bouncing houses
very bright and happy .
Girl walking happy and humming.
She hears a noise and imagines a big monster (shadow)
Panicky she runs to school
The shadow turns into a dog. That chirps and yaps as she ran
away.
PLAYGROUND , PRIMARY
SCHOOL
She runs up to her fiends (2 children) and tells them about
what she saw, expressing as she goes,
“grawww”
Her friends look at her laugh. Then start teasing her for
being weird.
She gets upset and angry about their reactions to her story.
A small tear falls from her cheek
CLOSE UP OF HER FACE WHICH FADES AND BECOMES DARKER.
SHOT OF HER ON THE STREET AGAIN.
Girl walks sadly through a crowd of blurred people. She is miserable, and depressed. Then She
gets bumped by a person and she falls to the ground.
PEOPLE FADE AWAY
Girl is on the floor crying and a tear falls from her cheek
onto the ground.
THE TEAR GROWS INTO A LITTLE MONSTER
Monster walks across to the girls hand and puts a paw on her
hand. She looks up to him and looks into the eyes of this cute cuddly little
monster.
Girl picks it up and hugs the monster. A smile crosses her
face and a fade of colour comes back into the frame.
LOTS OF DIFERENT CUTS
HOME GIRL, LOUNGE
ROOM
Them having a tea party
Walking down the street
Sitting in the grass together.
Talking chattering and making up stuff in their imagination.
GRASSY AREA WITH A
BIG TREE
Girl and the monster are playing in the grass together. Giggling
to each other.
A shadow crosses them.
The girl looks up and sees a silhouette of a boy.
The boy smiles and then holds out his hand to her.
The girl grabs the boys hand and he pulls her up.
They walk away together smiling.
The girl turns back to look at the monster, she smiles.
The monster is still in the grass smiling as always back at
her. (you get revealed he is a toy.
Now at the moment this seems like a lot of work, but I am working on using some props from my environment design and finding ways of easily using things in multiple scenes. One of the main things I want to concentrate on is figuring out exact shots and limiting the amount of models in the scene as well as limiting the amount of ploys. I am going to build sets that I will be able to pull apart for each scene, but this is going to take some planning, which is what this term is going to be about.
I did do a list of all the things that I am going to require to conceptualize and then model and in some cases rig.
Modelling elements
CHARACTERS (MAIN)
Girl (3 outfits of transformation)
Monster (toy and living)
CHARACTERS (EXTRAS)
Girl
Boy
Boy2
Dog
Bouncing flowers
ENVIROMENTS
Boxy boring grey street
Fun bubbly bright coloured street
Playground
Grassy tree area
Lounge room
My idea is to work scene by scene rendering as I am going that way if I don't finish by end of year I have something. I am also am finding quite a few ways to short cut some of the work in this using a combination of 2d and 3d. Also laying out my scenes and painting environments instead of modelling everything.
Arnie Checks in - He does wheelies!!!
Well we have a project that needs us to take some audio that was supplied to us and then animate to it. Here is a small segment of it of Arnie (yes as in Arnold the schwarzenator) doing a wheelie in the normal fashion obviously.

3D environment finished :D
Haven't written a blog in a while. Being catching up on the big load of work that we have being getting. First thing first. I finished that environment for my 3D visualization class. So after a week and a half of texturing and finish off modelling. I have being rendering, which is taking a while since all the lights in my scene, but it is getting there. here are some small shots of my progression and some of my final scene.
I am really happy about the way it looks and I want to add some extra bits at a later point as well and to animate a few things, but for the moment I can't get carried away, even though I am always doing that. Its all about self control now and focusing on my end of year short. which I will be updating about shortly.
